UPSL Announces Northeast Expansion With Amigos FC New York

Long Island, NY-based Club Joins American Division For Fall Season

April 12, 2021 – Los Angeles, CA – The United Premier Soccer League (UPSL) is pleased to announce Amigos FC New York as its newest expansion club ahead of the Fall Season.

Based in Long Island, NY, Amigos FC New York will begin UPSL play in the st Conference American Division. The club will host its home games at Breezy Park (19 W. Rogues Path, Huntington Station, NY 11746).

Marcos Reyes is Owner and General Manager of Amigos FC NY. Reyes is Sergeant in the New York City Police Department. The team will compete exclusively in the UPSL. 

UPSL Northeast Conference Manager Paul Konneh said, "Amigos FC New York is a good team to have in the UPSL and we welcome the club to the American Division. This UPSL Northeast continues to build for the future. Amigos FC is a great example of the opportunity the UPSL gives to clubs. They're looking to grow and the club will find a home in the American Division. We look forward to seeing their move into the UPSL."

Amigos FC New York was created in 2018 to play in an indoor league at Hofstra University. The team expanded in 2019 and joined the Long Island Soccer Football League (LISFL), where it currently competes in Division 3. 

"Our team is choosing to play in the UPSL in 2021 as we expand and move to the next level to give the opportunity to players who are looking to become professionals," Reyes said. "We will be joining in the Fall Season and bringing our best to the league."

The club will announce its fixture calendar.

Amigos FC New York is an American Soccer club currently based on Long Island, NY, and a new member of the United Premier Soccer League. Amigos FC New York will begin play in the UPSL's Northeast Conference American Division.

Amigos FC New York can participate in the qualifying rounds for the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup through their affiliation and membership with the UPSL, the U.S. Soccer Federation (USSF) and the United States Adult Soccer Association (USASA).
